deluge is a biblical story

During that time, Angels were assigned to the earth as Watchers.
While
manning their posts, they began to lust for the daughters of men,
and
soon abandoned their heavenly duties to take wives.
The story takes place during the Velvet Age,
a time when giants roamed the earth.
